I'm Making A Record!!! And I Need Your Help!!!

What up y’all!

Let me just start off by saying, welcome to the new site! It’s nice to be able to share with all of you sort of what’s going on with me when I’m not out playing shows. I’m going to try my best to keep this news section updated on a monthly basis. So stop by and check it out every so often if you’re every curious what’s going on in my world.

So now that that’s out of the way, here’s the big news i’ve been dying to tell all of you…

I have booked 3 weeks of studio time for this July at Hey Hey Studios in Griffin, GA. Let me just repeat that… 3 WEEKS… OF STUDIO TIME!!!! Is it obvious that i’m freakin’ stoked? I will be recording some brand-new, all-original music completely written by yours truly.

It took a while to figure out when and where I was going to record, but after reaching out to over 10 producers and engineers, I finally settled on working with Ryan Wilson who actually owns Hey Hey Studios. Ryan is an experienced producer as well as a songwriter himself who’s worked in many different areas of the music industry.

Currently, I am in the process of demoing all the new material & that's basically just me hunkering down for hours and hours at a time in my Fiancé and I’s second bedroom (which if you ask her, it’s not really a bedroom. It’s just a room that consists of all my guitars hanging from the wall, a shit ton of speakers, amps, and guitar cases, and a small desk adjacent to a futon that our friends use to crash on when they’re too drunk to drive home). But, it’s there where I stay hunched over my iPad using GarageBand to pump out guitar riffs, constructing lyrics, laying down programmed drums, and “slappin’ da bass”.

The goal is to have about 15-20 fully formed demos by the 1st of July. From there, me and the producer I’m working with, Ryan Wilson will try and narrow that list down to about 11 or 12 songs we both feel have the most potential & sort-of all fit together conjunctively. Once we have our songs picked out, we will start pre-production (mapping the songs out, cutting out any unneeded time on a song, and just getting familiar with all the parts.) After that’s knocked out, we officially start tracking.

I am literally counting down the days until this project goes underway. Until then, I’ll still be playing all the local spots you guys normally see me at.
